Family photographer in Hampshire – Hilliers

Although this is the 4thin my series of my favourite locations for family photo sessions, the subject of this one is possibly my all time favourite location. Sir Harold Hilliers Gardens just has something for every family and every season. Although it’s a very popular place to visit, with over 180 acres to explore, you can always find quiet areas for your photos.

As a family photographer in Hamsphire, Hilliers is a great central location, close to Romsey and just 15 minutes from Wincester.

I always tell clients that the key thing with a location is that it can give a great variety of backdrops for your family photos, but still allows you to be the focus. And you don’t get more variety than at Hilliers.

Even in the winter months where colour is usually lacking, Hilliers’ Winter Garden still has plenty vibrancy and flowers, before the snowdrops then the daffodils ad blossom start to break through.

Even though it’s a really popular venue, you can always find plenty quiet space to run about and play, and every trip is different exploring down different paths and taking the children’s lead on where they want to explore next.

We always try to stop by the little swinging seat which all the kids love, and it’s so well hidden that I don’t think that any of my families had found it before. We finish up near the entrance and then the children can either go off to play at the treehouse or parents can reward themselves with one of the delicious cakes at the café.
